In order to raise British innovation to the high level of British science, we need entrepreneurs and universities to work together successfully. The links being forged at Nucleus Expo, and the community already in place on the Science Park show how an innovation ecosystem can create real commercial success for UK businesses.
Nucleus Expo is crucial to the innovation landscape: we all want to see exciting science and tech and that's absolutely what we got. The science and tech ecosystem in the Midlands is coming along very well, we are the beating heart of the UK and events like Nucleus are critical for helping businesses to start up, grow and ensure they’re well placed for the future.
I was there in two capacities; helping promote the 100,000 genomes project, and supporting health related start-ups and SMEs. On both counts I was absolutely inundated by people wanting to talk, learn and collaborate, and I came away with a long list of new contacts and follow-ups. The logistics, pre-information and on the day event management were faultless, the venue was great, and the themes were topical and engaging.
