NUCLEUS EVENT ATTRACTING TOP TALENT
The event, supported by Hampshire County Councils’ Economic Development team, and organised by technology-led communications agency React, is hotly anticipated because it will champion, for the first time, all those that are contributing to Hampshire becoming an innovation powerhouse.
Hampshire will play host to an original event as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week next month. On Thursday 19th November, Nucleus, a new science and technology themed event will take place at the University of Southampton Science Park. It is attracting much attention, bringing together the region’s top innovators and big name speakers to celebrate the revolutionary technologies that Hampshire is becoming known for developing.

A wide variety of industries and topics will be covered in a stimulating programme of presentations, workshops and breakout sessions throughout the day. There will be car demonstrations by Tesla, workshops with the likes of Innovate UK, London Stock Exchange Group and Paris Smith, and keynote discussions to include fellow TV presenters Kate Bellingham, Champion for Girls’ Opportunities in Engineering, and Dallas Campbell, best known for his ground-breaking factual documentaries for the BBC.
One of the headline partners, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers will be delivering a keynote speech in which they will outline how entrepreneurial businesses can benefit commercially through the Institution’s training, accreditation and events programme. Nick Schulkins MBE, The Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ Wessex Region Chairman, commented: “In parallel to our Wessex Region Engineering Excellence Awards, we’re delighted to be a headline partner for Nucleus. We believe that engineering talent is at the heart of world class innovation and we see enormous potential for Hampshire to be recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting science and technology hubs. We are especially looking forward to seeing some of these emerging technologies first-hand on 19th November.”
