PARIS SMITH LLP HOLDING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CLINIC AT NUCLEUS 2015
Paris Smith representatives Laura Trapnell and Henry Barker will be holding an Intellectual Property (IP) Clinic in the Innovation Hub at Nucleus on Thursday 19th November.
Here, they will be sharing their valuable advice on intellectual property for start-up businesses, demonstrating how IP is serious business and why entrepreneurs should ignore it at their peril. They stress that start-up businesses need to have an IP strategy from the outset.
IP refers to patents, copyright, design rights and trademarks. When protected in law, the creator can earn the recognition, including financial gains, from what they have invented. In its simplest terms, intellectual property is owned if you have created it or bought the rights from the creator or previous owners.
The clinic will invite entrepreneurs to come and discuss with Paris Smith how they should be creating and protecting their valuable intellectual property.
Paris Smith’s team of intellectual property lawyers are experts in this specialist field. The team develops practical, commercial, legal solutions based on an understanding of the individual business’s aims.
Laura Trapnell commented: “Our clinic will be interactive, encouraging entrepreneurs to talk about their start-up and their experience with intellectual property to date. Being part of Nucleus 2015 is a great opportunity for us as we specialise in working with companies in Hampshire and we’re looking forward to working with more exciting innovative new companies emerging in the region”.
